• The Heil "CLASSIC" is an exact copy of a 1930 RCA 74B broadcast microphone, fitted with two of Heil Sound's cutting-edge dynamic elements optimized for use on your modern-day transceiver! A uniquely stylish product, the Heil CLASSIC also yields remarkably clean, well-articulated audio, and it is constructed to the highest manufacturing standards.
• The CLASSIC is supplied with Heil Sound's professional "Broadcast" element, with a frequency response of 50 Hz to 18 kHz and a +4 dB rise at 2200 Hz, for excellent articulation. You may then select, at the time of purchase, either the Heil HC-4 "DX" element or the HC-5 element, renowned for its full yet beautifully-tailored audio. If you have an early Icom rig, the high-performance Heil "iC" electret element is also available, instead of the HC-4 or HC-5. Selectable impedance (600 Ohms or 30 kOhms) is provided via a small slide switch on the microphone.
• An extensive internal Sorbothane © rubber shock mount system is utilized, along with an effective breath blast system, to minimize handling noise (traditionally a serious problem with sensitive broadcast microphones). The housing of the CLASSIC is specially crafted to minimize the proximity effect that hampers many other broadcast mics, as well.
• The CLASSIC is fitted with a five-foot cable terminated in a 4-pin XLR connector compatible with the Heil Sound CC-1 series of adapter cables, for easy interfacing to modern transceivers. The supplied desk base stand may be removed, and the CLASSIC may then be mounted on the PL-2T "Topless" boom.
• As a special service to CLASSIC purchasers, when you return your warranty card, Heil Sound will send you a set of letters and numbers for mounting your callsign on the "name flag" on your CLASSIC.

Note: Each of the CC-1 Adapter Cables is terminated on one end to mate with the CLASSIC microphone cable. The other end of the cable terminates in a connector compatible with your rig. A ¼" in-line female phone jack is provided in the CC-1 Adapter Cable for connection to our FS-2 Foot Switch or HS-2 Hand Switch, for PTT activation. The CB-1 PTT Base includes a PTT switch and cable for Connection to the CC-1 PTT input jack.
